General description
This course explains the fundamental techniques for color correcting shots or enhancing the look of a program on Avid Media Composer and will prepare you to work effectively with a colorist.
Audience
Producers, editors, assistant editors, multimedia producers.
Course Objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to :
- Analyze footage
- Use the Avid internal video scopes
- Color correcting each shot in a sequence
- Make sure color and luminance are within safe broadcast limits
- Create a treatment for an entire sequence
Prerequisites
Avid MC 101 - Introduction to Avid Media Composer or equivalent experience. The Avid MC 205 - Effects Tools and Techniques for Avid Media Composer course is also strongly recommended.
Course Themes
This session features color-correction, use of curves and color matches, use of automatic color-correction and the color-correction process.
Course Structure
Discussions and presentations of real-life case scenario will allow the group to exchange ideas on the featured concepts. Hands-on exercises will allow the participants to master the tools and exchange their experiences.
