Traditional drawing workshop for 3D artists

General description

This 4-module class covers the key concepts linked to the image emotional transfer and the pencil trace. Emphasis will be on the impact of traditional drawing on the creation of 3D images. This session covers: proportion, perspective and tools. The course is designed for computer graphics professionals working in various fields such as: video games, film and TV, architecture who wish to incorporate traditional drawing in their creative process.

  • Module 1 - Form & objects
  • Module 2 - Body and animation (living model)
  • Module 3 - Academic pose (living model)
  • Module 4 - Architecture - Work perspective with multiple escape point

Objectives

  • Understand objects representation in space
  • Create image composition
  • Work with light and shadow
  • Transfer traditional notions to 3D creation
  • Indentify way of improving 3D creation

Length and schedule

7 hours from 9am to 5pm per module

Prerequisites

  • Occupy a position where you are requested to design and create visual content
  • The 1st module is mandatory for participant without formal education or professional experience in traditional drawing.

Litterature and course material

Material will be provided for the class. The participants will be able to keep their workbook and artist material after the class.

Diploma

The course leads to a NAD Centre certificate of completion.

Cost

$245 per module, $795 for the entire series of 4 classes.
