Career Opportunities

The Labour Market

The main industries, which use computer graphics and which have job opportunities are: film, interactive gaming, multimedia, architecture and industrial design. Besides these creative professions, high-tech industries also make use of computer graphics; good examples are the ultrasound in the medical sector or flight simulators in aeronautics.

According to recent news, the film and television industry could witness the creation of 1,500 direct jobs by 2013. As an example: ''Ubisoft is getting into film and the production of short 3D animated films based on its video games, with the opening of a digital content creation studio in Montreal, which could employ up to 500 persons by 2013. (...) Quebec will grant $19M in diverse financial assistance and Ottawa will deliver a repayable contribution of $8M.''
